THE PROCESS

Road to BdJSO

Your journey all the way to representing Bangladesh on the international stage

A more attractive roadmap for students

1
Step 1

Online Registration

August 5 - August 21, 2026
The journey begins with online registration through the official BDJSO portal. Students from eligible categories can submit their personal and academic information during the registration period. Only complete registrations submitted before the deadline will be accepted.
2
Step 2

Regional Olympiad

To be announced
The Regional Olympiad is conducted across different regions of Bangladesh to identify promising young science talents. Students solve Physics, Chemistry, and Biology problems designed to test conceptual understanding rather than memorization. Successful participants qualify for the National Olympiad.
3
Step 3

National Olympiad

August 28, 2026
Regional qualifiers participate in the National Olympiad, where they solve more advanced analytical and problem-solving questions. Top-performing students receive national recognition, while approximately forty students from the Junior, Secondary, and Special categories are invited to the National Camp.
4
Step 4

National Camp

September 1 - September 3, 2026
The National Camp provides intensive academic training through lectures, experiments, practical activities, and regular assessments in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Participants are continuously evaluated, and the best performers advance to the Team Selection Camp.
5
Step 5

Team Selection Camp

September 4 & 5, 2026
The Team Selection Camp is the most important stage of the selection process. Participants receive advanced theoretical and laboratory training while being continuously evaluated by the BDJSO Scientific Committee. Full participation throughout the camp is mandatory for all candidates.
6
Step 6

Continuous Evaluation

Throughout the Camp
Selection is not based on a single examination. Students are evaluated through written tests, laboratory work, problem-solving sessions, discipline, teamwork, attitude, and overall improvement throughout the camp. This holistic evaluation ensures that the most capable students are selected.
7
Step 7

National Team Announcement

November, 2026
Following the Team Selection Camp, the BDJSO Scientific Committee reviews every participant's overall performance. Based on academic excellence, practical skills, consistency, teamwork, discipline, and international potential, six students are selected to represent Bangladesh at the International Junior Science Olympiad.
8
Step 8

International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)

December 2026
The selected national team participates in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO), competing with talented students from countries around the world. Beyond the competition, students build international friendships, exchange scientific ideas, and proudly represent Bangladesh at one of the world's most prestigious science olympiads.
